How long does it take to build a custom specialty structure?

Accepted Answer

Most specialty builds ship in 4–8 weeks from approved specs and deposit. Hunting blinds and standard greenhouses tend to be on the faster end (4–6 weeks); studio sheds, office sheds, and greenhouse combos run 6–8. We give you a firm window in writing with your quote.

What kind of polycarbonate panels do greenhouses use?

Accepted Answer

Twin-wall polycarbonate — 8mm thick, UV-coated on the outside, with internal channels that diffuse light evenly across the growing surface. Rated for 10+ years of light transmission and warranted against hail. Optional clear single-wall panels are available if you want maximum solar gain over insulation.

Can I get a run-in shed on skids so I can move it?

Accepted Answer

Yes — every run-in shed ships on pressure-treated 4×6 skids by default. That lets you reposition it across a paddock or pasture with a tractor or skid steer. If you want a permanent placement, we can also build it on a poured concrete pad or set it on pier blocks.

Are studio sheds insulated and wired?

Accepted Answer

Yes — studio sheds and office sheds ship with fully finished interiors. Insulation is installed, wiring is run throughout, and a breaker box is mounted and ready to go. Soffit venting is included for proper airflow behind the insulation — critical for moisture control in a climate-controlled space. Studio sheds get LP SmartSide interior walls with a pine-finish ceiling; office sheds get all LP SmartSide interior walls. Your electrician’s only job is to connect the breaker box to your home’s panel. We don’t use drywall — it cracks during transport. Interior wall and ceiling materials can be customized, just not drywall. Because these are insulated and wired, your township will typically require a building permit before we build — we supply spec drawings for your inspector at no charge.

What’s included with hunting blinds?

Accepted Answer

Every hunting blind ships with the full shooting-window kit: tinted Lexan windows on all four sides (or all eight on the octagon), drop-down hinges, and gasketing. Inside, you get a carpeted shooting rail and a plywood floor. The body is built from 1” wall thickness with cedar siding for sound dampening. Skid mount is standard; elevated stand is an upgrade.

Can you deliver a hunting blind to a remote property?

Accepted Answer

Yes — most hunting blinds (5×5 to 6×6) fit on a small trailer that we can roll in via field path or fire road. For tighter access, the blind ships in panels and we assemble it on-site in a couple of hours. We’ve placed blinds on properties from Pennsylvania to West Virginia.

Do I need a permit for a specialty building?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the structure. Greenhouses, run-in sheds, and hunting blinds under 200 sq ft are typically permit-exempt in PA, NJ, DE, and MD townships. Studio sheds and office sheds ship fully insulated and wired, so your township will usually require a building permit before we build. Get your permit first, then we build to your local code. We supply spec drawings for your inspector at no charge. Electrical rough-in is available as an upgrade on standard sheds and garages that aren’t priced as finished structures.

Is there a warranty on specialty structures?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every White Pine specialty build carries a 10-year structural and workmanship warranty. Materials carry their manufacturer warranties — LP SmartSide is rated 50 years, GAF/IKO architectural shingles 25–30 years, polycarbonate panels 10 years against yellowing and breakage. We’ve been building specialty structures since 1988 and stand behind every one.
