She Sheds

Your she shed — a backyard retreat that’s entirely yours

A craft studio, reading room, yoga space, art studio, or just a quiet escape — built by Amish craftsmen with the same materials and construction as our full-size buildings. Not a kit, not a pop-up, not something that falls apart in three years. A real building with a real door you can lock, delivered to your backyard and ready to make your own.

What will yours be?

Every she shed starts as a blank canvas. Here are the ones we build most.

Craft studio

Room for your sewing machine, quilting frame, or scrapbooking table — and nobody has to clean it up before dinner. Windows on every side for natural light.

Reading room & library

A quiet, private space with enough room for shelves, a comfortable chair, and nothing but the sound of turning pages.

Garden retreat

A potting shed that doubles as a personal retreat. Keep your tools, start your seeds, and have a place to sit and enjoy the garden.

Yoga & wellness space

An insulated, climate-controlled room just for you — mat space, soft lighting, and a door you can close on the rest of the house.

Art & photography studio

High ceilings, dormer windows for controlled light, enough floor space for easels and backdrops. Paint and clay stay out here, not in the dining room.

Music room

Practice piano, guitar, or vocals without worrying about the neighbors or the family. Add insulation and it stays surprisingly quiet.

Why a custom she shed beats a kit

A big-box kit gets you a box. We build the space you actually want to spend time in.

Built to your exact size

From a compact 8×10 reading nook to a full 14×40 studio. We build to the footprint your yard allows — not a one-size kit.

Windows, light & style

Choose the number, size, and placement of windows. Add dormers, flower boxes, or shutters. Pick from dozens of exterior paint and trim colors to match your home.

Electrical rough-in

We pre-wire outlets, switches, and an exterior light so your local licensed electrician only needs to connect it to your panel. You pick where you want the outlets.

Insulation & climate control

R-13 walls and R-30 ceiling insulation with proper ventilation, so you can add a mini-split and use the space year-round — not just in nice weather.

A real building, not a kit

Amish-built with LP SmartSide, pressure-treated framing, and architectural shingles. This isn’t a pop-up canopy — it’s a structure that lasts 30–50+ years.

It’s yours

A door you can lock, a space nobody else rearranges. Somewhere between the house and the yard that belongs entirely to you.

A note on electrical

We pre-wire your she shed during the build — outlets, switches, and an exterior light, placed exactly where you want them. Your local licensed electrician then connects the panel to your home’s service. This keeps the build legal in every township we deliver to, because electrical codes require a contractor licensed in the state the building sits in, and that’s always someone local to you. It’s one extra step, but it’s straightforward — most electricians can do it in a few hours.

She shed questions, answered

How much does a she shed cost?

A basic she shed starts around $2,800 for a smaller model with standard windows and siding. A finished 10×14 or 12×16 with the electrical package, insulation, extra windows, and interior finish typically runs $6,000–$12,000 depending on options. We’ll give you an exact quote — no guessing.

Do I need a permit for a she shed?

Usually, yes — especially if you’re adding electrical or a finished interior, which most townships treat differently than a plain storage shed. Requirements vary by municipality. We deal with permits across PA, NJ, MD, and DE every week, and we can help you figure out what your township needs before you order.

Can you wire it for electricity?

Yes. We offer an electrical rough-in package — pre-wired outlets, switches, and an exterior light — so your local licensed electrician only needs to connect it to your home’s panel. You tell us where you want the outlets and we wire it during the build.

Can I insulate it and use it year-round?

Absolutely. R-13 wall insulation and R-30 ceiling insulation with proper ventilation keep it comfortable in every season. Add a mini-split heat pump and you’ve got a four-season space.

How is it delivered?

Sheds up to about 14 feet wide are delivered fully assembled on our trailer and placed with our Shed Mule system — no heavy crane. Larger buildings are assembled on your prepared site in a single day. Either way, the building arrives finished.

What’s the difference between a she shed and a regular shed?

Structurally, the same Amish craftsmanship. The difference is the options — she sheds typically get more windows for natural light, a finished interior, insulation, electrical, and exterior details like flower boxes, shutters, and color-matched trim. It’s a living space, not a lawnmower garage.

Can I finance a she shed?

Yes. We offer rent-to-own with no credit check and traditional financing. Monthly payments start around $89/mo for smaller structures.
