It depends on where the building goes. The Classic Quaker upcharge runs roughly $700–$900 more than the Quaker on like-for-like sizes, and you’re paying for: 1×6 Miratec fascia (vs. standard pine), 1×3 Miratec corner trim, wider gable overhangs (looks more architectural), and Classic vents. If the shed sits where guests can see it from the driveway or front yard, the upgrade pays for itself in curb appeal. If it’s tucked behind the garage or at the back of the property, the standard Quaker is the smarter spend.

Four physical upgrades vs. the standard Quaker: (1) 1×6 Miratec fascia boards — sharp shadow line, paint-grade engineered wood that won’t check or cup; (2) 1×3 Miratec corner trim — thicker reveal at every corner; (3) wider gable overhangs — typically 12–16" past the wall instead of 4–6", which dramatically changes the proportions of the front facade; (4) Classic vents — louvered architectural vents instead of basic gable vents. Combined, these are what make the Classic Quaker read as a permanent outbuilding rather than a shed.

10×16 (starting at $5,370 in LP SmartSide) and 12×16 (starting at $6,095) are the bestsellers — buyers picking Classic are usually placing the building somewhere highly visible, so they want the trim package to scale well at a presentable size. Below 10×12 the wider overhangs and Miratec trim start to look slightly oversized for a small footprint. If you want the Classic upgrades on something smaller than 10×12, mention it on your quote and we can adjust the trim proportions.

No — the Classic upgrade has to be specced at order time because the wider gable overhangs change the roof framing geometry, not just the trim. We can’t retrofit it on a building that’s already built. The Miratec corner trim and fascia could theoretically be added later by a local carpenter, but the wider overhangs are baked into the roof structure. If you’re on the fence between Quaker and Classic Quaker, decide before you order — the all-in price difference is small enough that buyers rarely regret the upgrade.

Yes — every Classic Quaker through 12×40 is built fully assembled at our Parkesburg, PA shop and delivered on a low-profile trailer. Your access path needs to be at least 2 feet wider than the structure, and the Classic Quaker’s wider gable overhangs add roughly 1–1.5 feet to the overall transit width vs. a standard Quaker — so plan for about 3 feet wider than the base width. Once on-site, our shed mule lifts the structure off the trailer and positions it exactly where you want it. The building itself determines the opening you need. Always good to mention any tight gates, fence runs, or low branches when you request a quote so we can plan the route.

Same rules as the standard Quaker — the Classic trim package doesn’t change zoning treatment. Most townships in PA, NJ, DE, and MD allow accessory structures under 200 sq ft (10×20 or smaller) without a building permit. A 12×24 or larger Classic Quaker usually needs a zoning permit. HOAs are slightly more likely to approve the Classic Quaker over the basic Quaker because the architectural trim reads as a higher-quality outbuilding, but always check both your township and HOA before ordering.
