Lean To

Single-slope design that tucks against a wall or stands on its own

A clean single-slope roofline that sheds water one way — perfect for tucking against a house, garage, or fence line where a peaked roof won’t fit. Same framing and pricing as the Workshop.

About the Lean To

Why folks choose the Lean To.

The Lean To shed features a distinctive single-slope roof that sets it apart from traditional designs. The angled roofline promotes efficient water runoff and pairs naturally with fences, property lines, or the side of an existing building—making it an excellent choice for narrow lots and tight spaces where a conventional peaked roof won't fit.

Available from 6×8 up to 14×48, the Lean To delivers the same heavy-duty construction as our Workshop line at the same price. Choose LP SmartSide wood siding or vinyl, add windows for natural light, and customize the door placement to suit your layout. Whether you need a garden tool cache, a workshop annex, or covered equipment storage, the Lean To adapts to the job.

Lean To questions

What buyers ask about the Lean To.

Sizing, door clearance, delivery, permits — the stuff that comes up when folks are deciding on a lean to. If your question isn’t here, give us a call or text.

What is a Lean To shed?

A Lean To is a single-slope roof structure — instead of a peaked or gambrel roof, the roof slopes in one direction. The design originated as a structure that "leans to" the side of a barn or house, but ours are freestanding on 4×4 pressure-treated skids. The single-slope profile is lower on one side, making it ideal for tight side-yard setbacks, fence lines, or placement against an existing building where a peaked roof would overhang the neighbor’s property.

Is the Lean To the same price as the Workshop?

Yes — the Lean To uses the same wall framing, floor system, and door package as the Workshop. The single-slope roof is actually simpler to build than an A-Frame peak, but we price them identically. LP SmartSide starts at $2,165 for a 6×8; vinyl starts at $2,705 for the same size.

What’s the most popular Lean To size?

10×16 ($4,225 in LP SmartSide) is the most requested — it’s a natural fit along a fence line or the side of a garage. For equipment storage (riding mower, snow blower, ATV), most buyers go 12×20 ($5,450) or wider. The tall side of the roof gives you full standing height even on the smaller sizes.

Can I place a Lean To against my house or garage?

It’s designed for exactly that — the low side of the roof faces the adjacent wall, so water runs away from the building. We recommend leaving a 6–12 inch gap between the Lean To and the existing structure for air circulation and to prevent moisture buildup. Check your township’s setback rules — some require accessory structures to be a minimum distance from the main dwelling.

Is the Lean To delivered fully assembled?

Yes through 12×40 — every Lean To in that range is built fully assembled at our Parkesburg, PA shop and rolled in on a low-profile mule trailer. The 14-wide models (14×16 through 14×48) ship as panelized kits and are assembled on-site over 1–2 days.

Fast Delivery

Ordered a 10×16 Quaker on a Tuesday, delivered the following Monday. Crew was professional and the shed looks better in person than in the photos.

Value

My Classic shed was $2,000 less than a similar model at the big-box store — and it’s built ten times better. LP SmartSide, real 2×4 framing, architectural shingles. No comparison.
